In this step, you can adjust the bite opening again, set the spacer, and select a splint type. If you have chosen the material ‘LuxaPrint Ortho Comfort,’ you can also adjust the material thickness both circular and occlusally.
Select splint type
The software can automatically calculate splint suggestions based on the selected splint type. The suggestion for the bite splint is calculated taking into account the specified bite opening value and the contact area with the antagonist. The automatically calculated contact area is based on the set points in the molar region.
The protective splint is created with a uniform material thickness that corresponds to the minimum material thickness of the selected material.
The area for the anterior canine guidance can be individually defined on each side using the two sliders (Canine Guidance Left/Canine Guidance Right), where the splint is built up. The molar region is adjusted according to the antagonist.
Alternatively, the area can be adjusted by clicking directly on the splint.
Adjust Bite Opening
The automatic suggestion for the splint has been calculated based on the bite opening value you set in the previous step. You can adjust the bite opening value here and calculate a new suggestion for the splint.
The new suggestion will only be calculated and displayed once you click the ‘Apply Settings’ button.
